Israeli League The two Rishon LeZion teams on top

ISRAEL HC Ness Ziona beat Ramat Hasharon

With former Serbia national team’s assistant coach, Vladan Jordovic, SGS Ramat Hasharon president thought that his team can bring the Israeli championship and national cup. But after the 5th matchday in the Winner League, Ramat Hasharon won five points and stand at the sixth place (Ramat won League Cup). The last reason for that is H.C Ness Ziona, maybe not the biggest club in Israel but with great coach, Omri Maimon. The match between the two sides started with good performance by Ramat Hasharon and especially Sloga Pozega ex, the left back Milan Pavlovic. The two teams went to locker room after 16:11 for Ramat Hasharon in the end of the first half. The second half was the total opposite. Hapoel Rishon LeZion win 18th Israeli title!

The most successful team in the history of Israeli Handball, Hapoel Altshuler Shacham Rishon LeZion, win their 18th domestic Championship title. Hapoel beat Maccabi Tel Aviv 3:0 in final series to ensure another chance to battle for the place at VELUX EHF Champions League in season 2018/2019. The team of head-coach Idan Maimon, former DKB Bundesliga’s player (FA Goppingen) demonstrated power in three matches of the final over young Maccabi team (27:20, 20:27 and 26:21) with Bosnian goalkeeper Pedja Dejanovic in the role of MVP.

EHF Cup Round 3 The end for SC Magdeburg in Porto – Three German and Spanish teams at Group stage

Three German and Spanish teams will play at Men’s EHF Cup Group stage. The biggest surprise of Round 3 made Portuguese FC Porto by beating German SC Magdeburg 34:27 in second match after 23:26 defeat. Also TT Holstebro caught the “big fish” French PAUC 28:25 (first match 25:25).

Egyptian Zamalek SC win African Handball Champions League 2018

Egyptian Zamalek SC were crowned Champions of Africa for the 11th time after defeating rivals Al Ahly SC 27-25 in the 2018 African Handball Champions League Final held in Cote d’Ivoire on Sunday. Team led by coach Bassem Al-Sabki was placed in Group B, where they defeated the Moroccan Raja d’Agadir, the Algerian GS Petroliers (GSP), and the Congolese Jeunesse Sportive de Kinshasa (JSK). The White Knights beat the Ivory Coast’s Red Star OJA in the quarter-finals, and then overcame the JSK in the semi-finals. Egypt win Riga Council Cup 2017

Men’s 20th international four-team handball tournament “Riga Council Cup 2017” for the first time was won by national team of Egypt. Egypt participated in the tournament for the third year in a row, taking fourth (2015.) and second (2016.) places in the past. This year’s tournament Egyptians started with wins over Estonia (31:22) and Netherlands (24:21), but in last day rescued from loss to Latvia (26:26). Host team Latvia in first day suffered loss to Netherlands (24:29), then overtook Estonia (25:22). In last day against Egypt Latvians showed good game, but did not keep four-goal lead (20:16 on 40th minute and +2 five minutes before the end of the game) and the game ended with a draw. Egypt with five points won tournament, second place ranked by Netherlands (four points), third place by Latvia (three points). Estonia finished last without points. Egypt to built three new halls for WCh 2021

Egypt announced plan to built the three new sports halls for the upcoming Men’s IHF World Championship 2021. The Egyptian Goverment wants to host the biggest handball tournament in the system of our sport in the most touristic cities of the country. The hallswill be built in Sharm El Sheikh, Hurghada, and New Thebes in Luxor. Abdel Aziz explains their choice of such cities is due to the strong surrounding  infrastructure and the availability of nearby airports. All arenas have to be built in 18 months period.
